Xiaomi has kicked off 2026 in India with the launch of two new products under its Redmi sub-brand. The company has introduced the Redmi Note 15 5G smartphone and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G tablet, targeting users who want capable devices without stepping into premium price territory.
This year’s launch, however, also reflects a shift in pricing. With memory costs rising globally, Xiaomi has slightly stretched the prices of its traditionally affordable Note series. Even so, the brand seems confident that the features on offer will justify the change.
Redmi Note 15 5G features and specifications
The Redmi Note 15 5G focuses heavily on display quality and everyday performance. It comes with a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. With a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, the display should remain readable even in bright outdoor conditions.
The phone also carries an IP66 rating, offering protection against dust and light splashes, which is becoming increasingly common in this price range.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. For software, Xiaomi ships the phone with HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, straight out of the box.
Battery life looks solid on paper. The Redmi Note 15 5G packs a 5,520mAh battery and includes a 45W fast charger in the box, something many brands have started skipping.
Redmi Note 15 5G camera, battery, and pricing in India
On the camera front, the Redmi Note 15 5G uses a 108MP main sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 20MP front camera.
In terms of pricing, Xiaomi has positioned the phone slightly higher than earlier Note models. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant is priced at ₹19,999, while the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model costs ₹21,999. The phone will go on sale starting January 9 across online platforms and offline retail stores in India.
Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G specifications and highlights
Alongside the smartphone, Xiaomi also unveiled the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G, a tablet aimed at users who want a larger screen for work, study, or entertainment.
The tablet features a 12.1-inch display with 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports Dolby Vision and reaches up to 600 nits of peak brightness. Xiaomi has also ensured compatibility with a stylus and keyboard, making it suitable for note-taking and light productivity tasks.
Audio is handled by quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, which should help with streaming and video calls.
Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G price, availability, and software features
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and offers up to 8GB of RAM with 256GB storage. It also runs HyperOS 2 and includes AI-focused features such as Circle to Search and Gemini AI integration.
Battery capacity stands at 12,000mAh, with a 33W charger included in the box. The tablet also supports 27W reverse charging, allowing it to power other devices when needed.
Pricing starts at ₹22,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage Wi-Fi-only variant. The 5G version with the same storage costs ₹25,999, while the top-end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at ₹27,999. Sales begin on January 12 via Flipkart, Amazon, Mi stores, and offline retailers.
